Holiday’s are done, the decorations are stored away for another year, and a new year has met it’s second full week. Heavy coats were the norm for today’s gathering, and they did the best they could against the bitterly cold temperatures outside.
The service began with Deacon Donnie Aebersold reading Psalm 32 and saying a word of prayer. Worship leaders, Jacob and Jaime Hatcher asked the gathered to stand and sing some songs together.
- In the Garden
- Sweet Hour of Prayer
Jacob welcomed everyone and encouraged a brief time of fellowship. Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon took to the platform after a few minutes to remind everyone about “Winter Break” and the opportunity to gather at the Saunders’ home for discussion later this evening. Before giving a pastoral prayer, he called the ushers to the front to get ready for the offering.
While the offering was being collected, Jacob talked about the next song and read John 14:15-17, then he asked everyone to stand and sing.
- Holy Spirit
- In Christ Alone
