April 10, 2016 Morning Worship

With the end of Spring Break week coming to a close, travelers were welcome back to Vine Street Baptist Church with hugs and fellowship, learning of how various trips were experienced.

The service started with Deacon Betty Jeffries reading Psalm 8 and saying a prayer.  Co-Worship Leader Jaime Hatcher led everyone through a few opening songs while Jacob Hatcher played along.

  • Onward Christian Soldiers
  • Blessed Assurance

Jacob encouraged everyone to great each other in a short time of fellowship, then Associate Pastor Brandon Saunders closed that time by giving a few announcements

  • Guest Preacher this morning, covering 2 Timothy 2:1-13
  • Doug Hanna will teach from 1 Samuel tonight
  • Business Meeting tonight
  • Pal-o-Mine on Wednesday this week
  • VSBC pens are available to use and hand out to others

After a pastoral prayer, Hanna read Colossians 1:15-20, then the gathered sang while Jacob lead them

  • Our God
  • Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus

A prayer for the offering was given by Deacon Gary Cook, then Jacob played his guitar while the offering was collected.

Garret Graham delivered today’s message.  Graham is from a town just outside Birmingham AL and went to Auburn University, earning a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.  He is married to Katherine and they have a 6-month old son.  Graham is a student at Southern Seminary and will soon be moving to a house closer to school in the city.  The full audio can be heard by clicking on the date link below, or right-click and select “Save As” to save the file to your computer.  Click on the scripture reference to follow along with the reading.
