Today’s service opened with Deacon Wally Jeffries reading Psalm 2 and praying for today’s worship. Dr. Johann Kim talked about how the passage in Psalm describes God’s wrath, which led to singing songs of mercy.

After a time of welcome and fellowship, Associate Pastor Dwayne Ewers made a few announcements, then led the gathered in a time of prayer for the health concerns of friends and members. Corey Duncan read Matthew 26:57-27:10, then the congregation sang “Oh How He Loves You and Me” before Deacon Joe Gross prayed for the offering. Pianist Mia Kim played an instrumental piece while the offering was collected.

Before the time of teaching, the VSBC Choir Ensemble sang “God Put a Rainbow in the Cloud” (written by Andrew Jenkins and arranged by Irene Spain).
