May 28, 2017 Morning Worship

Memorial Day Weekend plans included attending worship for many Vine Street Baptist Church members and regular guests.  They gathered together to learn from the Bible and sang songs to God.

The service began with Deacon Joe Gross reading Psalm 34:1-10 and saying a prayer.  Worship Leaders Jacob and Jaime Hatcher led the congregation though some songs:

  • Glory to God
  • In the Garden

A time to greet one another was given, then Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon presented a few announcements to keep everyone up to date on various activities:

  • Crossing Camp - Initial fund raising goal was met, but additional fund received would be used to offset other expenses.
  • Church Wide Clean-up – this Saturday starting at 9:00am, church members are encouraged to come to the building to get the building ready for a variety of summer activities.  Items no longer needed in the building will be set out for city junk pickup.
  • Pastoral concerns

After Spencer said a Pastoral Prayer, the ushers collected the offering and everyone sang some more:

  • Not in Me
  • Be Thou My Vision

Spencer read today’s sermon text, then delivered today’s message.

The sermon continues the verse by verse series through 2 Corinthians. The full audio can be heard by clicking on the date link below, or right-click and select “Save As” to save the file to your computer.  Click on the scripture reference to follow along with the reading.
