May 7, 2017 Morning Worship

As the city recovers from three weeks of festivities and gatherings, members and guests came together to worship the Lord and learn from scripture.

The service began with Deacon Joe Gross reading Psalm 100 and saying a prayer.  Worship Leader Jacob Hatcher grabbed his banjo, and fellow Worship Leader Jaime Hatcher with her guitar, led the gathered in songs:

  • Peace Like a River
  • We Will Feast in the House of Zion

Everyone spent some time greeting one another, then Associate Pastor Brandon Saunders presented some general announcements.  He spoke of some pastoral concerns and said a prayer.

While the ushers were gathering the offering, member Mickie Bainter sang Clean as a special selection, then the congregation sang Before the Throne of God Above while Jaime led from the piano. Brandon returned to the platform to read today’s sermon text, then Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon delivered the message.

The sermon continues the verse by verse series through 2 Corinthians. The full audio can be heard by clicking on the date link below, or right-click and select “Save As” to save the file to your computer.  Click on the scripture reference to follow along with the reading.
